21st Century Community Learning Centers

Overview

The 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) program provides expanded learning opportunities for children and their families outside of regular school hours at ten Title I Schools. The program is funded by grants from the Department of Education. 21st CCLC programs offer after-school math pre-teaching and academic enrichment activities. School staff and community partners provide the program. Eligible students participate in activities to increase academic success in science, technology, engineering, art, and math (also referred to as STEAM).

This afterschool educational program is offered at Muldoon and several other schools around the district. Our program runs from 2:30 to 5:00 Monday-Thursday. Every day, students receive a snack and participate in hands-on literacy, math, and science activities. We also offer our school many guest speakers and interactive presentations from around the city to share their expertise, and we take students on interactive field trips as often as possible. Thursday is Club Day! Students choose a club activity to participate in. Please note that 21st Century is only available for 1st through 5th grade students.
