Muldoon Elementary School sits on the North East side of Anchorage on Cherry Street. Our school is nestled by a forested area in the back of the school with magnificent mountain vistas. To the front of the school, we sit in the center of a residential area called Muldoon, right off of 6th Avenue.
We offer rigorous and successful academic programs that engage all learners, using the Common Core Standards as our guide. Our entire school uses the Go Math! curriculum that is alligned to the Common Core State Standards. In grades K-2, our students use Cengage to accelerate their learning in reading and writing. Our 3rd-5th grade students use CKLA (Core Knowledge Language Arts).
Muldoon Staff members are proud of the diversity that our Muldoon families bring to our school. As a team, we strive to help all students, parents, and staff members feel safe while on campus. Parts of every school day are dedicated to focus on Social and Emotional Learning. Classroom teachers use books, videos and a variety of SEL curriculum to help teach children social skill lessons.
SEL Vision Statement
We believe all children are entitled to belong to a positive and safe learning environment where social-emotional learning supports their academic success. Our job at Muldoon is to take a holistic (whole child) approach to help our students feel safe and connected. We strive to create a place where students, parents, staff and community members work in unison to inspire all students to become life-long learners.
